Salma Bi and daughter Aliza Sohail join the Mini Muslim Playground as Brand Ambassadors

At the Mini Muslim Playground we are always looking for people that share our heartfelt passion and vision in helping Mini Muslims around the world learn about Islam and have fun at the same time. Our founder Allya has been working really hard to find individuals who can help spread this endeavour far and wide. After a chance encounter, she has found a Muslimah that not only has as much love about Islam as Allya but also shares in her vision to help Mini Muslims in her own unique way and has spent her entire life being an inspiration too many young ladies all over the World. So without further delay The Mini Muslim Playground proudly welcomes its first Ambassadors… A super star in women’s cricket and young mum… Salma Bi and her beautiful daughter Aliza Sohail.

A bit about Salma Bi…

Salam Bi, is a lady that has broken tradition and set a new standard for Asian women in the UK and beyond. Her father gave Salma a handmade cricket bat when she was nine years old, and since then she has carved out a successful and prestigious career in Cricket, despite some mild objections from her family in the beginning, Salma showed them how good she was by winning many trophies and medals and they all started to support her. Having played for Five Ways Old Edwardians at club level and being selected for Worcestershire County as the first Asian player, she has also played at Lords and at International level with the women’s cricket team, add to that she is also one of the few UK female umpires and she has raised the profiles of around 400 players.. That’s not all…

For several years Salma has worked tirelessly to bring young Asian women into cricket and into her weekend cricket club in Birmingham, as a result of her hard work she won an outstanding achievement award in 2011 from the Change4Life British Asian Sports Award (BASA) and as recent as 2015 she won the Inspirational Award at the Asian Cricket Awards.

In addition to Salma’s cricketing achievements which are far too many to list in this humble blog, Salma is also a qualified Haemodialysis Nurse, a wife , a mum to Aliza and she has worked on many charity projects, and she also runs her own sports company called Believe in MAD (Making a Difference).

Working alongside her and providing massive support is Sohail, Salma’s husband. In Salma’s own words they love working and achieving things together and when things need to get things done they both roll their sleeves up and get on with it. May Allah grant them both a lot of happiness and success.

Salma and her husband Sohail are currently working on a charity project based in Pakistan which is aiming to build an Orphanage that will provide safety, warmth and shelter for as many orphans and allow them to acquire an education as well. Please support them in their work by donating via this link https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/SalmaBi?utm_id=100&utm_term=w4YbBKWad. This couple is always on the go Ma sha Allah. May Allah reward them for all their hard work in this project.

But beyond all the amazing ground breaking, tradition defying achievements Salma has made, she is a humble, honest and kind hearted Muslimah, and it’s safe to say that her most crowning achievement is being a mum to beautiful Aliza. Aliza is 7 months old Masha Allah and already she is an Ambassador for the Mini Muslim Playground. She looks certain to follow in her mum and dad’s footsteps in achieving amazing things In sha Allah.

At the Mini Playground we are so excited to have Salma and Aliza on board and with our common vision to help kids all over the world learn about Islam and have fun at the same time we hope by the will of Allah (SWT) to make this a success. Keep an eye out for Salma and Aliza in the Playground and join them and us on some amazing adventures.
